The Pacific Islands is one of the world’s most disaster-prone regions, affected by cyclones, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity.

Through the Mobile for Humanitarian Innovation Programme, the GSMA has teamed up with Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association and Omnitouch Network Services to develop disaster preparedness solutions, including early warnings. MNOs in the region are leveraging the power of mobile networks to disseminate lifesaving information.
